The Dark Knight (DVD) by Mark D. Hauser
Not quite as good as the hype, but excellent nonetheless. When I watch an action flick (especially a Superhero movie), I already accept the fact that I am going to have to suspend belief for certain parts of the movie. However, in "The Dark Knight" I felt that way in every scene and it became a bit much. The same goes for the darkness of the movie.
Heath Ledger's phenomenal performance does live up to the hype, however, and I do not think that the rave reviews that he received for his performance were influenced by his unfortunate early death. He steals the movie from a group of very talented actors and it is sad to think about how many potential great performances by him that we missed (ala James Dean). The action scenes were great, but it would have been since if there was some realism to the plot. I give it 8 out of 10. What did you think of this movie?
